Sunburn may cause mild to severe reactions!

Summer is the time to enjoy the sun! Sunburns therefore happen more frequently in summer months. You can get sunburn after staying in the sun for too long or after use of tanning bed. The reaction can be mild to severe and usually occur 3 to 5 hours after sun exposure. Skin can become red, sore and hot. For severe cases, there will be blisters, severe pain and swelling.

If the reaction is mild, you can treat yourself by application of cool compresses or taking cool bath. Using a lotion or spray with anesthetics. The latter must be used with caution as some people may have allergies to the anesthetics. Pain killers can relieve the sore. You should seek medical advice if you have severe sunburn.
