Treatment overview
Intense Pulsed Light treatment can be done over the entire face, chest,
neck, hands, or other parts of the body as required. Treatment
of the face takes about 20 minutes. You can return to your
normal activities right away. Immediately following a treatment,
your skin may appear flushed for a few hours. Make-up can be
applied on the same day. Brown spots generally
appear darker and may flake slightly before they fade away in a
weekˇ¦s time. You should stay away from direct sunlight for a few
days after treatment. The skin should not be tanned prior
to treatment and daily sunscreen use is recommended.
For optimal results, a series of four to six treatments are
recommended, done three to four weeks apart. Results are then best
maintained with a treatment session once every three to six months.
Intense Pulsed Light - also known as IPL / RejuveLux / Photoderm
/ Photofacials - uses a gentle, pulsed light source to improve skin
tone and the complexion for a more youthful and healthy look. The
broad spectrum of light used in the treatment consists of
different wavelengths which can target pigmentation, broken
veins as well as encouraging collagen production.
