LASER stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of
Radiation. Laser treatment for blemishes works on the principle
of Selective Photothermolysis. By using lasers with different
wavelengths, we can selectively target pigmented or red
blemishes with minimal effects on the surrounding skin, thus
reducing any undesirable side effects such as scarring.
The followings are examples of blemishes which can be removed
with LASERS:
- Angiomas ("red moles")
- Freckles
- Hori's naevus
- Naevus of Ota
- Naevi (moles)
- Portwine stain and other vascular birthmarks
- Scars reduction/prevention
- Sebaceous hyperplasia
- Seborrhoeic keratosis
- Sun-spots / liver spots
- Syringoma
- Tattoos
- Telangiactasias (broken veins)
