Anti-aging Skincare Regimen: the Cornerstones

Anti-aging Skincare Regimen: the Cornerstones

We advocate "smart" skincare: achieving the most for your skin through the intelligent choice of scientifically proven skincare products. This involves a professional assessment of not only the status of your skin but also your lifestyle, so that we may get maximum results with the minimum number of products and steps.

Advancements in science and technology allow for a better understanding of the skin. Today, cleansers, creams and lotions have evolved past the simple roles of "cleanse and moisturize". A significant delay in the aging of the skin, and even - to some extents – the reversal of the signs of aging are now possible with the right skincare products, especially "prescriptive" skincare products. Choosing the "right" skincare products is often not easy for people as it is difficult to differentiate between the "claims" and "evidence" of the effectiveness of a certain product. "Prescriptive" skincare products are designed for doctors' use. They usually contain higher percentages of active ingredients and are better supported by scientific studies.

Examples of Active Ingredients

Preventing environmental assaults:
  • Sunscreens - more
  • Antioxidant products (Vit C, Vit E, Ferulic acid, Phloretin, Coffee Berry) - more
To slow down the process of skin aging:
  • Anti-glycation products. Glycation (the process of sugar reacting with protein) occurs inside our bodies all the time, leading to the formation of highly reactive Advanced Glycation Endproducts (AGEs). AGEs cause the stiffening of collagen in the skin, thus skin aging. Blueberry extract is an example of an anti-glycation ingredient.
  • Antioxidant products (Vit C, Vit E, Ferulic acid, Phloretin, Coffee Berry) - more
To "redensify" the skin by stimulating healthy cell growth and collagen formation:
  • AHAs (Alphahydroxy acids; glycolic acid)
  • PHAs (Polyhydroxy acids, a gentler version of AHA)
  • Retinols
  • Pentapeptides
  • Proxylane
To reduce pore clogging, blackheads, acne:
  • AHA (Alphahydroxy acids; glycolic acid)
  • BHA (Betahydroxy acids; salicylic acid)
  • Retinols (prescription needed)
To reduce excessive pigmentation:
  • Hydroquinone (prescription needed)
  • Azelaic acid (prescription needed)
  • AHAs
  • Retinols
  • Vitamin C
  • Phloretin
  • Arbutin
  • Kojic acid
  • Sunscreens
