What is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is a new, non-invasive skin rejuvenation technique that tightens, lifts and refines skin.

Using the company's patented DeepSEE technology, a dedicated "see and treat" Ulthera device simultaneously delivers ultrasound imaging and ultrasound therapy in the course of a single treatment.

A session of Ultherapy provides highly focused acoustic energy that penetrates deep under the skin, forming discrete thermal coagulative points at optimal depth to kickstart the body's own rejuvenative mechanisms. This leads in turn to effective skin tightening.

What should I expect during the session?

In a single session lasting around 30 minutes, your doctor gradually moves the flat surface of the Ulthera ultrasound applicator over each region of your face. An image is projected onto a screen that both you and your doctor can see.

The Ulthera handpiece is then used to deliver low levels of heat energy at just the right depth below the skin, to achieve a positive effect. The surface of your skin is left completely unharmed.

Your skin's initial response to the heat energy is to contract slightly, and then to stimulate the gradual growth of new collagen. A continuous skin tightening occurs over the next few months, ultimately resulting in a natural, beneficial lift of facial skin tissue.

Some discomfort, which varies from person to person, may be experienced during this skin tightening treatment. If necessary, medication can be taken to make the treatment more comfortable.

What about after the treatment?

No downtime is expected. There is a less than 5% chance you may experience mild bruising, which lasts for a few days. No special skincare regimen is required after the treatment.
