Airgent - Innovate pneumatic HA treatment for acne scars without surgery or needles

Airgent is a safe and innovative treatment used to reverse the visible signs of aging and to treat scars. By using special pneumatic technology (BiAction), particles of hyaluronic acid, a skin enhancing agent, are introduced into the skin like "nano-bullets". Long-term skin modelling then takes place, which includes enhanced collagen production leading to a revitalization of the skin. Airgent also works very well on scars as these "nano-bullets" disrupt scar tissue, encouraging a restructuring of the skin.

  • Depressed acne scars
  • Pox scars
  • Surgical scars
  • Stretch marks

How Airgent works

The Airgent system introduces a skin enhancing agent (hyaluronic acid) to the dermis leaving the surrounding tissue intact. Clinical trials show that the strong, controlled collagen-generating trauma induced by the Airgent treatment induces a mechanical effect that augments collagen generation and stimulates growth factors. This mechanical stretching is superior to existing injection methods, and is performed with very high-precision.

Airgent controlled and precise technology delivers high-molecular mass skin-enhancing agent particles via tiny entry points, to a controlled depth within the dermis. Airgent for skin rejuvenation

Unlike laser technology or chemical methods, the Airgent system delivers almost an immediate aesthetic effect. Proprietary BiAction technology produces a double acting mechanical effect, first laterally introducing hyaluronic acid molecules to the dermis to facilitate absorption and retention. This results in an immediate aesthetic improvement and makes the skin appear fuller, hydrated and rejuvenated. By the time this temporary effect subsides, over several months, the dermis-healing action phase sets into motion the long-term collagen remodeling effect, resulting in stronger, more youthful looking skin.

Since this is not a laser / light-based treatment, it is equally safe and effective on all skin color types.

The benefits:

  • Increased elasticity and firmness
  • Reduced wrinkles
  • Better skin hydration

Applicable to:

  • Face – overall texture revitalization
  • Neck – especially good for improving elasticity
  • Décolletage – decreases fine wrinkles caused by sun-damage
  • Hands – decreases the "skeletal" look of hands

Airgent for treatment of scars

Airgent can also effectively treat depressed scars such as acne scars, with very little down-time. Before Airgent became available, the effective treatment of depressed acne scars and stretch marks required aggressive laser treatments which involved long recovery periods and carried a higher risk of side effects.

During an Airgent treatment, a highly accelerated jet delivers hyaluronic acid particles into the dermis through a minute entry point performing a "Subdermal Minimal Surgery (SMS)". This disrupts the scar structure and breaks down any fibrous strands which may be present and holding the surface of the skin down, causing it to form a depression. Hyaluronic acid particles will lift up the depressed scar and provide structural support and an immediate visible improvement, while the scar undergoes long-term remodeling.

Airgent is effective for different kinds of depressed scars:

Airgent: The Procedure

Number of sessions:

This depends on the area and condition to be treated and the degree of improvement desired. Typically, two to three sessions, at one month intervals are recommended for skin rejuvenation, whereas three to six sessions may be required for acne scars. Maintenance treatments are recommended every 6-12 months.

What you will feel during the procedure:

Most patients report a minor "impact" or pressure sensation, a pin-prick sensation, or no sensation at all. The majority of patients do not require the use of a numbing cream.

Immediately after the treatment:

Coin-sized swellings with pinhead-sized red spot centers (the entry site of the hyaluronic acid) will appear on the treated area. The swellings will disappear within a few hours up to a day later. The red spots usually go away within three to five days and can be concealed quite well with make-up. The lip area may remain swollen for several days if the upper lip area is treated.

Safety:

The mechanism used in this procedure makes Airgent a very safe treatment. There is no risk of burning or scarring like with lasers. Since this is not a laser / light-based treatment, it is equally as safe and effective on all skin color types.

Possible side effects (but uncommon):

  • Allergies –typically resolved within one or two days
  • Haematomas or bruising – disappear after one to two weeks
  • Pin-sized pigmentation at entry sites – eventually disappear after a few months.
